What if I have any questions or concerns?

What happens if my loved one passes away at home or is resting at another Funeral Directors?

We will arrange to collect your loved one from your home and take them into their our care. If your loved one is resting with a Funeral Director,  We will need your permission to allow us to take your loved from the Funeral Directors into our care. * Additional charges may occur. 

 

Are there any additional charges?

If your loved one has been resting at a Funeral Directors you may incur  charges for their professional care services. Also if the collection incurs  toll charges, congestion charges, low emissions or any other charges, these will be an additional charge to you. 

 

What does Unattended mean?

The Direct way is an unattended direct cremation. This means no mourners, no bearers, traditional hearse, no flowers and no chapel visits. If you would prefer an attended service please contact us and we can help by putting you in touch with a trusted Funeral Director local to you. 

 

How do I make a Payment?

The Direct Way accepts all major card providers and bank transfer. If your loved one has a Funeral plan or Life insurance these values can also be used.  Payment will be required 72 hours before cremation.

 

What happens once I have made a payment?

One of our appointed Funeral Directors will accompany your loved one on their final journey. Once the cremation has taken place one of our dedicated Funeral Directors will contact you to arrange a convenient date and time to hand deliver your loved ones ashes back to you.

What happens with my loved ones ashes afterwards?

Once your loved ones cremation has taken place, its your choice; we can either hand deliver your loved ashes back to you, or we can scatter your loved ones ashes at a remembrance garden of our choosing.

 

If I want my loved ones ashes returned how will this happen?

One of our dedicated Funeral Directors will contact you to make arrangements for a convenient date and time to hand deliver your loved ones ashes back to you. All we will require from you is your signature. 

 

How long will it take?

As soon as the paperwork is signed and returned back to us, our dedicated Funeral Director will make arrangements to bring your loved one into our care and to proceed with the cremation.  This journey will take up to 21 days.

 

Can I choose a coffin & how do I receive the Ashes?

No you do not have a choice of coffin,The Direct Way use a Heritage standard coffin. Your loved ones ashes will be hand delivered back to you in the sealed container issued by the crematorium. Together with the certificate of cremation.

How do I know my if they are my loved ones ashes?

All cremations carried out in the UK are in accordance with The Cremation (England & Wales) Regulations 2008.
